Kip McGrath Carmarthen Education Centre is a locally run, family-owned centre, part of the global Kip McGrath Education Network, which has been supporting children and young people for 50 years.

Our Carmarthen centre has supported local families for over 12 years and is owned and managed by Susan Cook, a qualified teacher with over 20 years' experience in education. Originally trained in humanities, Susan has taught English for the past 10 years and has held responsibility for literacy as a literacy lead. Her teaching spans both mainstream education and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) settings, giving her extensive experience of supporting young people with a wide range of abilities, learning needs and barriers to education. Susan is supported by a highly experienced team of qualified teachers including specialist maths, science and primary practitioners. This breadth of expertise allows us to carefully match each learner with a teacher who best suits their age, ability, individual needs and learning goals.

We support pupils at all stages of their learning, whether they need to catch up, fill gaps in their knowledge, build confidence, prepare for exams or be challenged beyond the classroom. We also welcome home-educated learners and young people who may be experiencing anxiety or difficulties accessing school.

Our experienced teaching team supports learners with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD and PDA profiles. Every learner begins with an individual assessment so that we can understand their strengths, identify areas for development and create a programme tailored to their needs.

At Kip McGrath Carmarthen, our aim is simple: to meet every learner where they are, help them grow in confidence and give them the skills and support they need to reach their potential.
