Inverness

Welcome

WELCOME to our Kip McGrath Education Centre serving Inverness and the entire Moray Firth area by offering top quality tuition in English and Mathematics.

We aim to provide - for all ages - excellent tutoring in Reading, Spelling, English and Maths using a fun and friendly style and learning environment.  To achieve this we have recruited a team of fully qualified teachers (all GTC registered and Disclosure Scotland checked) who are passionate about teaching and are experienced in their area of expertise.

If you need assistance in exam technique, or generally want to improve in English or Maths at primary or secondary levels, Kip McGrath Inverness could be perfect for you - WE CAN HELP!

Kip McGrath Education Centre in Inverness is owned by Andrew Brown who is Faculty Head of Mathematics and Computing at a local secondary school in the Highlands.  Andrew has an excellent track record of helping students to be successful (see 'What We've Heard' above) and is well respected by many students and parents.  The Centre - which has disabled access - is located adjacent to the Caledonian Canal at Muirtown locks, on a road with traffic calming measures to enhance local safety.

Simply call us on 01463-713304 or email kipmcgrathinverness@hotmail.co.uk to arrange an initial assessment.  We can then design a programme to meet your individual needs. The assessment is free of charge and without obligation.

What We Do and How We Work

Our centre is fully equipped with both Scottish curriculum materials and specially designed Kip McGrath resources to offer tutoring of the highest standard in English and Maths at primary through to secondary school levels.

Every tutoring session lasts 80 minutes and comprises a variety of elements including oral, written, practical, audio, and our unique computer-based programmes.  All are designed to cater for each individual in a highly motivating way to ensure interest, achievement - and enjoyment of learning.

All learners receive individual tuition, although each of our tutors can work with more than one learner simultaneously.  The reason for this is simple: when tutoring, most of the time you are not doing anything while waiting for an answer from the learner.  All of our tutors prefer this method ("the time flies by"), and and all of our learners are happy (we check this regularly) - and most report that this is less intense than one-to-one tuition.

An eighty-minute session costs only £28 and we have a SPECIAL OFFER - BUY 10 SESSIONS AND GET ONE FREE!

In summary, we offer:

  • teaching in a relaxed and friendly environment
  • increased confidence and self-esteem
  • improved motivation for learning
  • support for exams
  • an enjoyable learning experience

Individual tuition in a group setting - designed to deliver success

We look forward to welcoming you to Kip McGrath Education Centre - Inverness.

What We've Heard

"Thanks for your help, we’ve found it beneficial and would definitely recommend the centre." from Andrea Stirling, mother of Blair (age 14)

"Both Avie (age 15) and Sandy (age 18) have very positive feedback; given that they both hate maths - that is good enough testament.....I guess??" from Avril Lumsden

"In mathematics, my confidence has increased considerably.  My problem-solving abilities have improved significantly because my tutor has provided me with a range of strategies I can use.  Trigonometry used to be my weakest point, but I now have the confidence to tackle the questions and in the majority of cases come up with the right answers.  I like the learning environment – it concentrates my mind much more than doing maths with a home tutor or in a revision class with several other pupils.  The biggest advantage to me is the fact that the tutors are currently teaching Higher Maths and are completely up to speed with the current curriculum and teaching methods.  In English my close reading skills have improved significantly – even after one session – having the opportunity to discuss and review material on a one-to-one basis is a considerable benefit.  My university entrance requirements need good grades.  This is the extra help I need in helping me achieve them." from Natalie (age 16)

"Going to ‘Kip’ has helped me a lot with my maths.  Andrew is really nice and now I can do grade A questions!!  I look forward to going there every week!" from Anna (age 15)
